Diplomatic Club
Bucharest, 2012
The former Jockey Club established in the 1920s, a sports Country Club with a selected clientele, the Diplomatic Club is running nowadays as a place for events of all kinds. The restaurant is designed to tell a classical story about fine dining, in an atmosphere of sober comfort and velvet armchairs, by the key role element, the fireplace. Large windows opening to the terrace extend the light and space while the framing walls are dressed in wood of neutral greige, leaving the full epic of colours to the armchairs. The suspended lights fly their candlelight above the tables and below the panelled ceiling. Heavy curtains grow tall at the sides of the windows, warming up the transition to the atmosphere inside.
